Mini bedroom tour

I realise I have neglected this space for quite a while now. I love reading blogs and thought I would re-start mine again. I thought I would kick things off with a mini bedroom tour. In all honesty it's only 'mini' because the rest of the room is an utter tip-and who would want to see that? I have chosen to focus on certain detailing’s in my room to paint an overall picture of what it looks like.

This windowsill overlooks fields at the back of our house, normally containing sheep. I tell you this because it's a place I normally find myself peering out of looking for inspiration. I hear you ask why sheep inspire me? They don't. Other than naming a fair few of them, I simply like the image they create huddling together in the field. Now this sounds incredibly corny however I'm sure you can relate to what I'm trying to get at. I've stacked this shelf with memories with photograph's and picture frames and also a hard copy of Wuthering Heights which my A-Level English Literature teachers gave me as a leaving present- a book/Story I have grown to love.

I discovered an old keyboard which I used to use almost every day to write songs with before I learnt how to play the guitar. As I don't need to use my desk for school work any more, I decided to place the key board there so that I can easily use it when I want to unwind (even though I can't play it very well). On the topic of 'unwinding' I love having a hot shower before bed in the evenings and using my soap and glory moisturizers to relax. I call this my 'pamper basket' simply because it contains all of my favourite moisturizers.

I went away for the weekend a couple of weeks ago and my parents had decided to get rid of one of the sofas they had originally put in the lounge. Even though it was a horrible colour I thought that I could use it in my room instead of them throwing it away. I put on a flowery quilt which I had had for years and then some pink flowery fairy lights over the back of the sofa to make it fit within my bedrooms colour scheme. I don't have any colour on my walls just boring cream, however I decided to accent my bedroom with the colour pink with the soft furnishings. I decided to do this because it's a lot easier to change the colour scheme this way than having to re-paint or re-wallpaper the walls in the near future if and when I get bored of the baby pink I have at the moment. Some of you may be aware that I make You Tube videos in conjunction with my love of music. I have decided to use this as my new backdrop to create a bit of 'personality' to my videos.

As you can tell my bedroom so far has been very girly. Nothing's about to change especially as I love reading and making sure I smell nice (that's not meant to sound weird I promise-just perfume!) Of course I'm not stating that reading is a girly thing to do, however the types of books I read are definitely under that bracket. I have two favourite types of genres in which I like to read. Romance and detective/murder mystery novels. Here are a few books I am reading or have read and yes they are very girly, I just can't help myself. My favourite perfume of all time is 'Si' by Giorgio Armani. My mum actually first bought this for me as a Christmas present 3 years ago and It has always been something I have asked for as a gift for birthdays and Christmas presents as I love the smell so much.

I always find it interesting to see how people have decorated their rooms which is why I have decided to create a post about this particular topic myself. My room is very girly and I'm sure not to a lot of people's tastes, however I love it and find it very calming (especially when all of my fairy lights are on) which I think is very important for a bedroom. Thank you for taking the time to read this, even if it wasn't of any interest to you. Hope to see you soon, and any ideas on future posts would be much appreciated. x
